Brooklyn Park, MN · Hennepin County
Sunshine Sprinkler Systems is a local irrigation company serving Brooklyn Park, MN with sprinkler installation, repair, spring startups, winterization, and commercial irrigation service. We have been doing this work in the Twin Cities metro for 40 years. Brooklyn Park is a large and active market, the sixth most populous city in Minnesota, and a significant share of the homes here have aging irrigation systems that are well past their service life. Whether you are installing for the first time or replacing a system that has been in the ground since the 1980s, we do both.
Service 01
When we install an irrigation system in Brooklyn Park, the owner lays out every job personally. Jon has been designing irrigation systems for 40 years, and that experience shows up in how we approach a city like this one. Brooklyn Park's housing stock has a median construction year of 1980, which means a lot of homes here with irrigation systems have had them for 20 to 30 years. Some of those systems were installed before modern zoning and head-matching standards were the norm. When we come out for an estimate, we evaluate the existing infrastructure too. If there is something worth saving, we will say so.
For new installations, we zone by arc pattern, quarter circles and full circles never share a zone, and we nozzle every head to match precipitation rates across each zone. Every estimate is done on-site in under an hour. We check your water pressure, inspect your plumbing, measure the yard, and hand you a written quote before we leave. All plumbing work is included. We offer Good, Better, and Best installation packages, with the Better and Best tiers including a Hydrawise smart controller.
Brooklyn Park runs a Water Efficiency Rebate Program that includes a $100 rebate per household on a WaterSense-certified smart controller replacement, plus $5 per WaterSense-labeled sprinkler body replaced. Ask us about eligibility when you call.
Additional Services
Mid-season problems happen: broken heads, stuck valves, leaks you do not notice until your water bill arrives. Our service technicians carry Hunter, Toro, and Rain Bird parts on every truck, so most repairs get handled in a single visit. We service all makes and models, including systems we did not install. Given the age of a lot of Brooklyn Park's irrigation infrastructure, we will give you a straight assessment of what is worth fixing and what is not.
We offer spring startup service throughout Brooklyn Park each season. We turn the water on, fire up every zone, inspect the heads, check for leaks, and make any needed adjustments. If we find something that needs repair while we are there, we open a separate work order at an hourly rate. Brooklyn Park runs odd/even watering restrictions from May 1 through September 30. Spring startup is a good time to make sure your controller is programmed for your address and running efficiently.
Before the ground freezes, every irrigation system in Minnesota needs to be blown out. Water left in the lines will expand, crack pipes, and damage heads and valves over winter. We schedule fall blowouts throughout Brooklyn Park each season. Call early as our fall schedule fills fast.
Commercial Irrigation
Brooklyn Park has a significant commercial and industrial base, including major employers like Target, Medtronic, Olympus, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals along its primary commercial corridors. Edinburgh USA Golf Course, a municipally operated 18-hole course, has substantial irrigation needs across fairways, greens, and rough areas.
The city has documented that roughly 70% of peak summer water draw goes to lawn irrigation, which is the driver behind the seasonal restrictions and also why well-designed, efficiently programmed systems matter here. We provide commercial irrigation service for business properties, campus facilities, HOA common areas, and public grounds throughout Brooklyn Park.

Jon personally designs every new installation. You are not getting a two-year foreman with a tape measure. The person who built your system is the same person who designed it.
Jon, his son Sam, and Jolene run this business. When you call, Jolene picks up. When we come to measure, it is Jon. When install day comes, it is Jon and Sam.
More Google reviews than our local competitors, and we earn them one job at a time. No franchise standards. No shortcuts. Every system is one we stand behind.
Brooklyn Park runs odd/even watering restrictions from May 1 through September 30. Odd-numbered addresses water on odd-numbered days of the month; even-numbered addresses water on even days. The city recommends watering in the early morning hours before 10 a.m. and avoiding peak afternoon hours.
The restrictions exist because during hot summer months, about 70% of the water drawn from the city's system goes to outdoor irrigation. Keeping supply stable during peak demand periods is the core reason. Brooklyn Park also offers the Water Efficiency Rebate Program: $100 back on a WaterSense-certified smart controller replacement, plus $5 per WaterSense sprinkler body replaced.
