Crystal does not have a standing seasonal watering ordinance. There is no automatic odd/even schedule or mandatory blackout window that applies every summer. Instead, Crystal activates water use restrictions only during declared drought conditions or water shortage emergencies, following guidance from the Minneapolis Water Works and the Minnesota DNR.
When restrictions are activated, Crystal typically follows an odd/even day schedule with a noon to 6 p.m. watering blackout. Hand watering is generally permitted at any time. We monitor conditions each season and can update your controller settings if the city activates restrictions. If you are unsure whether restrictions are in effect, check with Crystal City Hall or the city's website.
