Eden Prairie, MN · Hennepin County
Sunshine Sprinkler Systems serves Eden Prairie, MN with sprinkler installation, repair, spring startup, winterization, and commercial irrigation. Eden Prairie is one of the best-planned suburbs in the country — 2,250 acres of parks, a major corporate employment base, and some of the strictest year-round watering rules in the metro. It also has one of the most generous rebate programs. We know this city and we know how to design systems that work within it.
Service 01
Eden Prairie enforces year-round odd/even watering restrictions — every day of the year, not just during summer. No irrigation is allowed between noon and 5 p.m., and there are no warnings given. Fines begin at the first violation. A smart controller that knows your address's watering day and automatically avoids the blackout window is not optional here; it is the practical starting point for any new system.
Eden Prairie's soils are a fast-draining sandy loam — the city has its own named USDA soil series formed from glacial outwash. Unlike the clay-heavy cities in the metro, Eden Prairie soils do not hold moisture long. Systems here may need to run more cycles than homeowners expect, and getting the run time and frequency right matters more because the soil offers less buffer. We adjust for this in our zone design and programming.
The city's rebate program covers 100% of a WaterSense smart controller up to $175 and 100% of WaterSense sprinkler bodies up to $100, applied directly to your utility bill. We help customers navigate the application. Every estimate is done on-site, and Jon personally lays out every installation.
Additional Services
Mid-season problems happen: broken heads, stuck valves, leaks you do not notice until your water bill arrives. Our service technicians carry Hunter, Toro, and Rain Bird parts on every truck, so most repairs get handled in a single visit. We service all makes and models. Eden Prairie's fast-draining soils mean under-watering from a broken head shows up quickly in turf — we get there fast.
We offer spring startup service throughout Eden Prairie each season. We turn the water on, fire up every zone, inspect the heads, check for leaks, and make any needed adjustments. Eden Prairie's restrictions run year-round — spring startup is the right time to confirm your controller is correctly programmed for your address's odd/even day and the noon-to-5 p.m. blackout. We also verify your run times are appropriate for the sandy loam soils here.
Before the ground freezes, every irrigation system in Minnesota needs to be blown out. Water left in the lines will expand, crack pipes, and damage heads and valves over winter. We schedule fall blowouts throughout Eden Prairie each season. Call early as our fall schedule fills fast.
Commercial Irrigation
Eden Prairie has one of the strongest corporate employment bases in the southwest metro. Optum (6,500 employees), C.H. Robinson world headquarters, Starkey Laboratories, and UNFI are all headquartered here. Eden Prairie Center mall draws six million shoppers annually. The city manages 2,250 acres of designated parkland. These are all active commercial irrigation markets.
HOA common areas in Eden Prairie are extensive — the city has a high share of attached housing, and nearly all of it is HOA-managed. We provide commercial irrigation installation and service for corporate campuses, retail properties, HOA common areas, and the city's park system.

Jon personally designs every new installation. You are not getting a two-year foreman with a tape measure. The person who built your system is the same person who designed it.
Jon, his son Sam, and Jolene run this business. When you call, Jolene picks up. When we come to measure, it is Jon. When install day comes, it is Jon and Sam.
More Google reviews than our local competitors, and we earn them one job at a time. No franchise standards. No shortcuts. Every system is one we stand behind.
Eden Prairie enforces year-round odd/even watering restrictions every day of the year — not just summer. Odd-numbered addresses water on odd-numbered days of the month; even-numbered addresses on even days. No irrigation is permitted between noon and 5 p.m., even during new sod exemptions. Private wells are exempt from the city ordinance.
There are no warnings. Fines begin at the first violation: $25 for the first offense, escalating up to $200 for a fourth offense and $300 for each additional violation within three years. New sod and plantings get a 30-day exemption from the odd/even restriction — but the noon-to-5 blackout still applies. HOAs and commercial properties can request alternate watering schedules through the city.
